Speed Governor:

Speed Governor or Speed Limitation Device (SLD) is a micro-controller based electronic unit, which constantly monitors the speed of a vehicle and controls the vehicle speed within the preset limit. The Product offers a variety of benefits to the fleet owners, drivers and passengers.

Why Speed Governors?

As per National Crime Records Bureau Data (2011), road accident deaths in India account for the highest amongst unnatural deaths with over 35% of total causes of deaths.

Over speeding causes the maximum accidents. Thus the solution lies in controlling over speeding of transport vehicles thereby inducing discipline amongst drivers through use of technology. Speed Governors is such a device that restricts the maximum speed of a vehicle to a preset limit.

 

Speed Governor consists of three basic components:

• Electronic Control Unit (ECU): The Brain of SG regulates the fuel flow to engine by controlling the Solenoid valve.
• Fuel Control Valve / Actuator: Regulates the fuel flow to the engine based on the vehicle speed.
• Speed Sensor: Fitted on the Vehicle Gearbox. Measures the Vehicle speed and transmits to the ECU.

 

Types of Speed Governors:

     1. Electronic Speed Governor

Electronic Speed Governor is a recently developed tool to provide maximum driving speed limit through an electronically controlled fuel Injection System.

     2. Variable Speed Governor

An Electronic Self Programmable Speed Governor for Vehicles which is pre-programmed on the basis of speed limit specified by the government authority for different city roads & highways. Vehicle position is measured through the inbuilt GPS Receiver and Speed limit is programmed automatically from the Memory database.

     3. Adaptive Speed Governor

An Electronic Speed Governor for Vehicles which is pre-programmed on the basis of speed limit specified for a specific region such as Airport, factories, institutional area, Construction Site etc.

     4. Fly By Wire Electronic Speed Governor

Fly By Wire Speed Limiter*, model FBW99 is state of art technology, indigenously developed product. FBW99 is used for Speed Control of Vehicles having Electronic accelerator paddle.

Operation:

The brain of the Speed Limiter is an Electronics Control unit that installed to received impulses from a speed sensor and activates a solenoid to restrict fuel when the speed Limit is touched.

Speed Limitation:

The Speed Governor does not affect the acceleration in any way.
